Little bit about me and my brain


I lived in an RV full time for over three years, traveling around the country before coming to Florida. So when I say I’m down for an adventure, I mean it. I’m someone who notices the little things. a ridiculously fluffy cloud, Spanish moss hanging over a tree branch, the perfect pink sunset, or just how good a crisp cold Coke tastes halfway through a wedding day. I love hiking, traveling, caramel lattes, spending the entire day at the beach, film cameras, books, comfy pillows, art museums, documentaries, and of COURSE, my dog Bentley. I think the things I love probably explain a lot about the way I photograph, too. Most of my inspiration comes from movies, fairytales, paintings, and all the little pieces of life that make you feel something. I love romance and everything about what it means to truly love someone. Yearning? Whimsical? Music to my ears. Give me the weird ideas, too. The different ones. The things that are a little outside the box. If you have an idea that makes you wonder, “Is this too much?” I’m probably going to tell you to do it. I appreciate weddings that are truly based around how the day felt, not how it looked. Who cares about the plates? I want you to actually live your wedding day while I pay attention to everything happening around you. The nervous hands. Your grandma tearing up. The way your person looks at you when you aren’t paying attention. Your veil getting caught in the wind. Your friends losing it on the dance floor. All the little things you didn’t even realize were happening. Honestly, that’s probably why elopements are one of my favorite things in the world to document. I adore the idea of two people who love each other deciding, we just want to be married, and running off somewhere to do it. Maybe that’s a courthouse. Maybe it’s a national park. Maybe it’s somewhere halfway across the world. There really are no rules, and I love that. I’m a sucker for candid moments. I love blurry, messy, imperfect photos simply because they make you feel something. Sometimes the photo that isn’t technically perfect is the one that brings you right back to a moment you never want to forget. That’s what I’m always looking for. I love the heck out of my job!!!!! This isn’t about the pictures, it’s about you. Forget about posing and feeling stiff in front of the camera. You know how many times I have heard "I am so awkward in front of the camera" just to hear the complete opposite by the end of the session or wedding day? My process is easy-going and comfortable. I'll be there to guide you into moments and the rest will naturally come. Just be you. Sometimes people forget I'm even there.
